Mendoza

April 24th - 27th - Mendoza, Argentina

Our time in Mendoza was pretty much spent talking about how great it would be in summer because it was about 10 degrees and raining but we made the most of it. Mendoza was so nice and since its the winery region we did a bike riding winery tour. We were the only ones on it because it was cold and wet so everyone else cancelled.

Buenos Aires, Argentina

April 18th - 30th - Buenos Aires, Argentina

Buenos Aires, our first stop in South America. We luckily got 2-3 nice warm days at the start but then it became horribly cold which unfortunately made it hard to walk around the streets but we did as much as we could.

1. Best BBQ meat place we found, $2.5 for a really yummy chorizo in a roll with salsa
2. The buildings and architecture were really beautiful and then some had this amazing graffiti that made it even more interesting.
3. La Recoleta Cemetery where Eva Peron is buried. The mausoleums are huge
4. Simo, Zinga, Josh, Daniel and me had Tango lessons, we passed.
5. El Rosedal (Rose Garden) in Parque Tres De Febrero
6. The Obelisk
7. Boca Juniors v Colon Stream - still not a soccer fan but the atmosphere was impressive. Boca 1-Colon 0
8. The only good steak we had and god it was good. 400g of rump with salads and so many condiments for only $20

El Salvador

April 18th, 2012

Our flight from Los Angeles to El salvador was delayed which meant we missed our connecting flights to Peru and then on to Argentina. This did seem pretty annoying until TACA airlines told us they would provide us accomodation and meals for the 24 hours we were stuck in El Salvador. They put us up in the Crowne Plaza in San Salvador with buffet meals, yay! Whilst we were there there was a big Army conference there with the highest ranked soldiers and officals from El Salvador, USA and Canada, so security was intense as was the amount of guns hanging off all of them. Beautiful place though....
